PUBLIC STANDARDS Editorial · corrections · AI · sources

The rules behind what we publish and recommend.

Trust requires more than accurate-looking pages. These standards define how CanadaBuysGuide handles evidence, updates, automation, conflicts, customer proof, and corrections.

01

Editorial standard

Material guidance must be useful, specific, proportionate to the evidence, and written for Canadian suppliers. Facts, estimates, assumptions, examples, and professional judgment are identified separately. Promotional copy cannot overstate certainty, savings, eligibility, or probability of award.

02

Primary-source policy

Government rules, registration steps, tender clauses, dates, and compliance requirements should be supported by the relevant solicitation, amendment, official procurement portal, statute, regulation, department, or other primary authority. Secondary sources may provide context but do not replace controlling documents.

03

Freshness and review

Time-sensitive guides display a reviewed or modified date. Material process pages are reviewed when an official change is detected and at least quarterly while actively promoted. Outdated pages are corrected, redirected, clearly marked, or removed from active distribution.

04

Corrections

Substantive errors are corrected promptly. The corrected passage, material nature of the change, and update date are recorded when the correction could affect a supplier’s decision. Minor spelling or formatting changes do not require a public note.

05

AI-use policy

AI may assist with document organization, extraction, comparison, drafting, calculation checks, and quality assurance. AI output is not treated as a source. Material recommendations require human review against the original tender, customer facts, and primary sources. Confidential information is handled according to the service scope and privacy commitments.

06

Conflicts and independence

CanadaBuysGuide is independent from government buyers. Referral, supplier, affiliate, sponsorship, or commercial relationships that could reasonably affect a recommendation must be disclosed. Paid relationships do not control the outcome of a bid/no-bid assessment.

07

Customer evidence

Testimonials, case studies, names, logos, outcomes, and commercial details are published only with appropriate permission. Anonymous case studies are redacted to prevent reasonable identification and avoid exposing buyer, supplier, pricing, or tender-sensitive information.

08

Professional limits

Our tools support procurement decisions and execution discipline. They are not legal, tax, accounting, engineering, security, certification, or financial advice. Customers remain responsible for their submission and should engage qualified specialists when required.

REPORT A CONCERN

Corrections are part of credibility.

Email info@canadabuysguide.ca with the page, statement, relevant source, and why the issue could affect a supplier’s decision. Material concerns are acknowledged within one business day.
